Biography

Audrée Wilhelmy is a writer and visual artist based in Quebec. Her work explores the links between narrative, matter, and ritual, through writing, sculpture, and the creation of talismans combining natural materials and jewelry techniques. Her objects, conceived as narrative forms, question how matter can carry meaning and memory. Author of several novels published in France and Quebec, her work has been a finalist and winner of numerous awards. Her practice unfolds at the intersection of the literary and the plastic arts, in a research attentive to forms, gestures, and modes of writing.

Approach

Meteor Manifestos — texts in relief is a three-week creative residency dedicated to the production of talismans combining natural materials and jewelry techniques. Each piece acts as a material manifesto, where assembly becomes writing. Three talismans, originating from the Sutton territory and created through reasoned collection, explore plants, elevation, and hospitality. Fibers, bark, and mineral fragments become sentences; the act of assembly, syntax. The project affirms an act of attribution: meaning is born from arrangement, making each object a text readable by sight and touch.
