Scott Thomson (aka Somewhere There) will present “old school” dance music that traces the African diaspora from its roots to its incarnations in Caribbean and North American popular music.
Biography
Scott Thomson is a “listener,” trombonist, and composer whose commitment to free improvisation underpins much of his current work. His achievements include in-situ musical projects, and he served as Artistic and General Director of the Guelph Jazz Festival from 2017 to 2023. He currently directs and programs the Victoriaville International Festival of Current Music.
