Dancing Brome-Missisquoi in Sutton

Dance workshops for the whole family (ages 7 and up), where we learn steps that have traveled through the history of the territory. A living encounter between Indigenous and non-Indigenous traditions to share together.

For an afternoon, dance becomes a common language between generations and cultures. These two family workshops, led by Abenaki choreographers Lysane and Nicole O’Bomsawin, as well as non-Indigenous choreographer Maude Lecours, offer to revisit steps that have resonated across the Brome-Missisquoi territory throughout history.

Each gesture carries the memory of those who danced before us, while opening a space for encounter and transmission. A festive and unifying experience, where families are invited to learn, have fun, and inscribe their own steps in the continuity of a living memory.
