In a convivial open studio atmosphere, they will share with you the vibrant poetry of their words and excerpts from the brand new manuscript that Annie Landreville will have created during her residency. An ecosomatic walk, a surprising tasting, and performative co-writing centered around ordinary nature!

Biography

Annie Landreville lives in Rimouski. A poet, trainer, curator, and cultural worker, she has published five books of poetry in which she explores the territories that inhabit her and tries to capture their echoes, between the themes of body and lineage. She won the Jovette-Bernier prize for Date de péremption in 2019 and the Geneviève-Amyot prize in 2020. Her latest collection, Les couteaux dans ma gorge ne sont pas des fruits de mer, published by Poètes de brousse, a reflection on memory, the body, and the coastline, was a finalist for the Governor General’s Awards.

Approach

“I write poetry. I write from two converging perspectives: writing in resonance with another artistic practice, especially music and visual arts, and geopoetics, which leads me to explore my writing territories through wandering. I explore boundaries, connections, and lineages by moving through a landscape, amidst the works of a museum exhibition, or simply by observing what happens in a concert hall or a public square. I observe, I absorb, I reflect, and I listen. It is from these encounters, these tensions, that images are born, and that I explore what emerges between the territory and me; or between the work, the territory, and me.”
