Antilope: what remains of our humanity? presents a danced character in constant mutation. It transforms within a projected and immersive setting, a setting that modifies itself in real time, creating a cosmic atmosphere. The animal, its tools, and the machines presented in this performance form the heart of an allegory: that of the path humanity is taking today, where the living is born, twists, adapts, evolves, transforms, becomes alienated, and merges to adapt anew.
Biography
Mathilde Heuzé is a multifaceted artist. Dancer, acrobat, choreographer, artistic director, and teacher, she works in the fields of contemporary dance, gymnastics, and circus. A graduate of the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal in 2018, her specialty in Quebec is aerial dance with harness, including vertical dance, fixed suspension, and bungee. Her artistic approach stems from a long-term mission: to showcase harness-based disciplines, still little known to the general public, in service of her reflections on human evolution.
Approach
In 2022, Mathilde continues the logical progression of her previous creations and pushes her reflections on the notion of transhumanism, the future of the human being, and its relationship with progress on stage.
