This booth invites visitors to rediscover their territory through the natural, cultural, and artisanal riches that inhabit it. By highlighting ancestral skills and often overlooked resources, it offers a fresh perspective on the wonders that surround us every day.

Biography

Curious by nature, Jacob Brideau is first and foremost a father of four. A generalist, he is interested in the knowledge of the earth and shares his
curiosity with those around him as a youth leader.

Approach

At the heart of the experience, basketry plants reveal their essential role in creating utilitarian and artistic objects. Visitors also discover willow herbiculture—the art of growing willow—which bears witness to a sustainable relationship between humans and their environment. The booth also presents the fascinating technique of black ash pounding, a traditional method used to separate wood fibers to create baskets of great finesse, a precious heritage passed down from generation to generation.

The colors of the land are also showcased through natural mineral pigments extracted from local earth and rocks. Their diversity illustrates the geological richness of the environment and inspires reflection on the links between nature, creation, and identity.

Through demonstrations, discussions, and hands-on objects, this booth raises public awareness about the value of its living heritage. It encourages everyone to observe their environment differently and to recognize the natural and human treasures that shape the territory.
