Inhabiting the land differently—what if we changed our perspective to discover how our ancestors walked this land for 10,000 years, lived on it, loved it. Let themselves be tamed by it, carried by a worldview where everything is in the great Circle of Life. Everything is connected, everything is linked… faithful to their memory, I can say that the land inhabits me.

Biography
An Abenaki anthropologist, Nicole O’Bomsawin received her training from the Université de Montréal. For nearly fifty years, she has worked to share the richness of her traditional culture. First through dance, she traveled with her dance group across Canada, the United States, and Europe, and then through stories and legends. She has received several awards and distinctions for her commitment to promoting First Nations cultures. An Elder of the Odanak community, mother of 3 children and grandmother of 6 grandchildren.
