The public is invited to discover a land art trail co-created by local artists, both professional and amateur, as part of a workshop led by Paule Mackrous aka Pattie O’Green, an ecofeminist writer and urban forester. Through a series of meetings, participants were guided in an approach rooted in listening to the land, slowness, and care for living things. Together, they shaped ephemeral works in dialogue with the natural elements of the site. This trail celebrates the beauty of the connections between art, ecology, and community.

- Meeting with all participants on August 22 in person at DAR from 10 AM to 3 PM
- Land Art creation: August 27 from 1 PM to 7 PM, August 28 from 9 AM to 5 PM, August 29 from 9 AM to 5 PM, and August 30 from 9 AM to 1 PM
- Presentation: August 30 at 1 PM
Biography
Paule Mackrous aka Pattie O’Green is an ecofeminist writer, art semiotician, horticulturist-arboriculturist, and urban forester. In 2020, she founded Cœur d’épinette, a project promoting connection to the land and community mobilization through land art, nature writing, and arboreal walks. She is the author of Mettre la hache (2015) and Manifeste céleste (2021) published by Éditions du Remue-Ménage, as well as Les Prophéties de la Montagne published by Éditions du Marchand de feuilles, a nature writing narrative about Mount Royal.
Approach
My background in art history, then in horticulture and urban forestry, naturally led me to the practice of land art. As a member of the Land Art Collective, an international collective that brings together creators implementing a restorative practice, I value small interventions that foster an anchoring in the territory and an encounter with those who inhabit, cross, and honor it. Through this artistic and social practice, which unfolds with slowness and connection, I cultivate an ethics of care for all living things.
