For one week in our cultural meadow, children ages 6 to 12, accompanied by their families, are invited to experience a unique creative adventure. Together, young and old will explore the surrounding nature to imagine and create a collective work of art that is ephemeral and alive. Through the practice of land art, each person will be invited to observe, touch, assemble, and transform natural elements—leaves, branches, stones—to give shape to a shared creation, sensitive and inspired by the place.

Biography

After earning his master’s degree in object and furniture design in Paris, Orélien Biet chose to come live in Quebec in 2004. His adopted country allows him to embrace his artist’s soul and deploy his creativity through diverse and varied projects. He works particularly with reclaimed materials or elements gathered from nature.

However, what truly fascinates him is exploring and sharing the mysteries of the creative process. The benefits of free and spontaneous artistic expression motivate him to offer creative workshops for all, which he has been doing for several years. Through his Land art workshops, he invites both children and adults to reconnect with the pleasure and satisfaction of creating freely, outdoors.

In recent years, Orélien has specialized in the practice of stone balancing, for which he offers introductory and advanced workshops.

Approach

Led by Orélien Biet, artist and cultural mediator, this workshop offers a moment of connection to nature and bonding between parents and children. Without pressure or performance expectations, it’s an invitation to share, experiment, and marvel together as a family, in a playful and caring spirit. As part of the Pour la suite du Monde festival, the collective work will find its place at the heart of the site and its opening will take place on Friday.
