Expo Brome - Brome Fair
At the Brome Fair, Marie-Renée Bourget Harvey offers vivant·es, a performative booth designed as a poetic oasis where the public is invited to weave, taste, offer, and write words for the living.
Biography
Marie-Renée Bourget Harvey is fascinated and moved by humans, the arts, and the land. As a multidisciplinary artist, she develops an approach where words, gestures, and their impact are finely interwoven. A graphic designer by trade, she took a necessary detour into anthropology and visual arts before completing her training in set design at the Conservatoire d’art dramatique de Québec in 2005. She is also the co-founder of ‘les chantiers / constructions artistiques’ at the Carrefour international de théâtre, as well as the Remise culturelle. Insatiably curious and hypersensitive to the land that welcomes her, she seeks to create internal and external bridges to rethink our ways of creating and to bring forth more meaning and coherence in everyday life.
Approach
Grounding oneself. Listening. Connecting. Marie-Renée seeks to create a dialogue between the intimate and the collective within every material and relationship she chooses to dive into. As a multidisciplinary artist, she explores and merges different mediums and techniques based on what comes her way. Fascinated by ancestral craftsmanship, she allows herself to be permeated and guided by the material and what it seeks to express through her.
