Nicole O'Bomsawin

An Abenaki anthropologist, Nicole O’Bomsawin was trained at the Université de Montréal. For nearly fifty years, she has been active in sharing the richness of her traditional culture. Initially through dance, she traveled with her troupe across Canada, the United States, and Europe, and later through storytelling and legends. She has received numerous awards and distinctions for her commitment to promoting First Nations cultures. An Elder of the Odanak community, she is a mother of three and grandmother of six.
