The projects of Beauregard and Hope, rooted in environmental arts and letters, multiply material and textual experiments on our ways of inhabiting. The residency will result in an interdisciplinary and installative creation, protean in nature, combining writing, visual devices, and material interventions.

We will propose a work in dialogue with the Després site. A landscape intervention, whether ephemeral or more permanent, will be produced. This will metamorphose with the seasons, highlighting the passage of time and weather patterns. This work may lead to a subsequent publication or videographic production resulting from the encounter.

Biography

Martin Beauregard is an artist-researcher and professor of creation and new media at the Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue (UQAT). He directs the UQAT Institutional Research-Creation Chair in Environmental Art, Ecodesign, and Digital Fabrication. His work examines the relationships between materiality, territories, and ecological transformations, utilizing co-creation approaches anchored in situated practices.

A professor in the Department of Literary Studies at the Université du Québec à Montréal, Jonathan Hope is the author of Ce lac (2024), Accueils de l’autre-qu’humain (2025), Escarres (2026), and Les saisons d’un lac (2026). His projects, including Réécrire la forêt boréale and Spectralités et spéculations du lac Osisko, explore flexible, creative, and collaborative literary practices.
